What is an IDOD

An ID/OD Inspection is required by the Missouri Department of Revenue when the title of a vehicle is being transferred from another state to Missouri. Certification involves a licensed Missouri Inspector Mechanic verifying the current Mileage and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the vehicle whose title is to be transferred and submitting that information to the Missouri Department of Revenue. Depending on the age and mileage of the vehicle, a Missouri Emissions and/or a Missouri Safety Inspection may also be required. If a Missouri Safety Inspection is required, the Missouri Safety Inspection fulfils the requirement of an ID/OD Inspection.
